More than 2,500 people turned out for the 17th annual Burlingame Pet Parade on September 17, 2022, which featured three bands, costume and float contests, and lots of smiling people accompanied by pets in hilarious costumes.
The parade was headed by McKinley Elementary School and their float promoting the annual Harvest Festival. Their float even won the school float competition!

The parade grand marshal was Anthony Tansimore, President of the Peninsula Humane Society, along with his poodle-mix, Zoey, whom he adopted from PHS. They rode in a classic red Thunderbird convertible chauffeured by Don Hamblin of Burlingame Auto Body. Anthony, formally a nonprofit executive, took over as President of the Peninsula Humane Society in 2021 when the outgoing President retired.
Music was provided by the Burlingame High School Marching Band, the Los Trancos Woods Community Marching Band and the San Mateo Elks Concert Band.
Grand Prize: The Grand Prize Winner from the judging competition was Ruth Chofre with her adorable fur baby, Geri.
First Place of the School Float Competition went to McKinley School of Burlingame for their float promoting the annual Harvest Festival.
